Craftsman Rocker Class

This week we have 7 people each building their own rocking chair! So we are starting with this (a stack of wood).

And hopefully by the end of the week, each student will have this (a finished rocking chair). Jonathan

We’ve cut the mortise and tenons, arch on the front rail, tenons for the arm posts and glued up the front frame on Monday. Cut the mortise and tenons for the back frame (we used a mortise machine for some of the mortises) 🙂 fit the four back rails on Tuesday. Cut and fit the slats for the back, cut the curves and arches smoothed the surfaces and glued up the back frames Wednesday afternoon. And today we are currently cutting and fitting the angled side rails, that connect the back and front frames.
