Custom Roubo Workbench

Custom Roubo Workbench

I’ve been meaning to write about a couple Roubo workbenches that I just finished but Jameel over at Benchcrafted beat me to it! I am grateful for his kind words and for taking the time to write the blog and put up the pictures.

Check out the latest blog entry by Benchcrafted.

If you have not had a chance to check out our video on making the Houndstooth dovetail be sure to hop on over to our Youtube Channel and check it out. The video is in three parts.

We are working on another few videos now, including how to do the handcut marquetry lettering.

These benches are the “perfect storm”. Frank’s amazing skills + beautiful design and wood + fantastic functionality of Benchcrafted’s vises = a force not able to be equaled.

Beautiful benches, Frank. I think your new shop looks great – windows and light and space. Can you give us a shop tour soon? Enjoyed seeing you in Amana ! Dave

Thank you all for the kind words. I enjoy making the benches and especially doing the fine detail work. So many times its really just the wood that makes it “pop” in this case the walnut against the maple.
Dave, I still have a ways to go in making my home shop better but its getting there, I suppose we should do a little video shop tour… someday! Enjoyed seeing you at Amana too, what an event!
