Cathead baskets were designed by the Shakers to hold produce. Weave your own Shaker-style basket with hand-pounded black ash splint. Use a Nantucket mold to shape the sides and learn to bring the corner spokes together as you weave to form the catheads on the bottom of the basket. Insert a handle to the outside of the basket and double-lash the rim. You will take the basket you make home with you.
