Pottery II: Basic Shaping Techniques (3-day)

pottery02

3 day class

The perfect class for the hobbyist and amateur alike! Whether you just want to get away for a long weekend and learn a new craft, or you want to set up your own home studio, this class is a great way to continue learning the art and craft of making pots on the potter’s wheel. In this workshop we will teach you how to make a mug, a bowl and a vase. In making these pieces, you will learn the first three of eight shaping techniques that are used to shape almost any piece of wheel-thrown pottery. We will also begin teaching you how to make and apply handles to pots.

All materials and equipment will be provided for the class.

This class is from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

****We will contact you when your pottery pieces have been fired and are ready to be picked up. (We’ll be happy to ship your pieces to you, if you prefer. However, there will be an additional shipping charge to do so.) Please contact the Potters’ House at (254) 754-9656 if you have any questions about this.****

Note: Since our workshops are specifically designed for adults, an individual must be 18 years old to enroll in a class. All students should wear practical work clothes and shoes. For your safety, we ask that you do not wear shorts or sandals to a class you are attending.

All our classes close 24 hours before the class date with the exception of classes that start on Monday, which will close the Friday before. If there's a class that closed early that you'd like to attend, please call us at 254-754-9620 to check for availability.
