2 day class
Tapestry is a weaving technique which lets you express your ideas and to be very creative. Weaving tapestry on the rigid heddle loom is fun and very portable.
We will cover tapestry craftsmanship skills that will help you develop as a tapestry weaver. We will begin by weaving some basic stripe techniques. Using a tapestry needle, weft handling will be demonstrated. You will also learn to make tapestry butterflies, use tapestry bobbins and learn how to follow a cartoon. The basic diagonal will be practiced, since it is used for making other diagonals and curved shapes. Diagonal shapes will be used to make a geometric tapestry design.
No tapestry weaving experience is necessary, but some experience working with yarn is helpful. We will provide the warp material and you will warp your loom before you come to class.
The materials fee for this class will be figured at the class.
This class is from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
