Description
1 day class
In this class you will learn how to do stranded color knitting using circular and double pointed needles – the form of color work used for Fair Isle and Scandinavian color patterns. Fair Isle knitting is characterized by bands of geometric patterns, using two or more colors but never more than two colors in one round or circular row. Scandinavian knitting patterns use the same form but typically use one contrasting color. In class we will knit a Scandinavian patterned woolen hat. Yarn and pattern will be provided and are included in materials fee. We will use 16” circular needle size 6 or to gauge. We will also use double pointed needles size 6 or to gauge. Students may bring their own needles or purchase at time of class. Before taking this class, you should have mastered the basics of knitting and be able to knit in the round on double pointed needles
This class is from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Prerequisite: Knitting 202 – Double Pointed Needles (1/2-day)
