Description
1 day class
Steeking is a technique that allows you to knit a garment in the round and then to cut it to make sleeve or front openings. Knitters who do stranded color work such as Fair Isle or Scandinavian patterns find it easier to knit projects in the round so that the color pattern is always visible. Knitting in the round also results in seamless garments. You will learn and practice this technique by knitting and steeking a small bonnet. Pattern and yarn will be provided and included in the materials fee. We will be using 16″ circular needle size 5 or 6 and double pointed needles in size 5 or 6. Students may bring their own needles or purchase at the time of the class. Before taking this class you should have learned how to do stranded color work.
This class is from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
